We need to schedule something for the summer... something central, but far enough in advance for everyone who would like to attend to be able to get off work etc.

I'm that close - Eastward, Rey.
My youngest daughter lives in Ft Worth (TCU) and my youngest son lives in Richardson.

Let's get the ball rolling!

However far it is from San Antonio to Austin. My schedule might be pretty tight this summer though.

Since I first moved to Texas, I found you have to drive quite a distance to get anywhere. I will go a few hours behind the wheel to have some fun with fellow FTE folks.

Hell I have gone over a 1000 miles just for a motorcycle event. I am sure I would go at least 500 for a truck event. BB isn't that the truth. If you want to go anywhere in Texas you better get used to being behind the wheel for awhile.Ed

According to the Handbook of Texas Online........this is the center of Texas.

MCCULLOCH COUNTY. McCulloch County (H-14) is 250 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico in Central Texas and is bounded by Coleman, Brown, San Saba, Mason, Menard, and Concho counties. The Colorado River separates McCulloch County from Coleman and Brown counties. Brady, the county seat and largest town, is 120 miles northwest of Austin on U.S. highways 87, 190, and 377. The center of the county lies at 31°11' north latitude and 99°21' west longitude, three miles north of Brady. The geographical center of Texas is located in northeastern McCulloch County at 31°21' north latitude and 99°14' west longitude, sixteen miles northeast of Brady.

Being 120 miles southeast of this point...I guess Austin is the Center of Texas if driving Highways.
Or...between the "center of Texas" and Austin......
Maybe a BBQ/Camping at Lake Buchanan? http://www.highlandlakes.com/lakebuchanan/

there's a car show in brady in april of 2005.. brady's about 5 and a half hours from me and that's enough closer that i might could pull it off given enough warning. that added 120 miles to austin puts it well out of my range... of course, i'm in the minority being that there's not many other people around here...

Depending on my work schedule, I would be up for a trip to the Austin area. My Sista lives on Canyon Lake, so......

OK.. so why don't we actually try setting up a date for a meet in the Austin area in the laaaaaaaate summer? THis will give everyone time to plan for it also. We have to plan early if we ever want anything to happen. Any thoughts? Ideas on a date/place?
