Difference between the Lightning E4OD and bronco E4OD?

Difference between the Lightning E4OD and bronco E4OD?

Any one know the diff. on the 93-95 lightning trans E4OD vs. the 96 5.0L bronco trans? Thanks

The lightning trans is 2wd the bronco trans is 4wd. There maybe other differences.

Lightning E4OD trans is heavy duty similar to f250 f350 diesel truck specs.
Most E4OD need to be upgraded when rebuilt , center shaft support, heavy duty one way roller clutch, and 4 or 5 pinion sun gears.
When I had my trans rebuilt upgrades were about a third of the cost, but add a lot of life and durability to E4OD. If you are rebuilding ask about upgrades.
