oh yea, one more thing. you might need to get a new distributor. the one on the 97 motor doesnt have the tfi module on it which connects to the eec-IV harness. you have 2 choices here. buy a new msd dizzy with tfi module and a bronze gear ( very important) or buy a used one from a 93 351w and have the gear taken off the 97 dizzy to be put onto the 93 dizzy. reason for this is your 97 motor has a roller cam which needs the bronze dizzy gear. I found this out to when i bought a 95 351w i went with option 2 bit cheaper , the gear swap was 30 bucks. let me know if you have any other ??'s

Ok, then lets say I want to use the existing motor, transmission and computer along with the harness. Is there any books or instructions out there that would help. BTW I did talk to the guy from that link you guys gave me but he was not to helpful. He just told me that the EFI system for these engines is not a good one and left it at that. Ed

Right reason being is they are way more complicated to work on and tweek. Thats why i suggested getting a mass air kit and wiring from a mustang. much easier to tune and do well with modds. you should go to the Painless Wiring website and email that guy. real knowledgable , just tell him what you want to do and what way is easiest to go.

the only other problem i see (not tring to pi$$ on your parade) the out put shaft on that tranny is going to be way to long for the 2wd tail shaft housing. deffinately call a tranny shop on that one because i'm not onehundred percent shure on that. i put a 97 460 in a jeep wrangler so i don't see why you couldn't do this just make shure to ask lots of questions so you don't end up buying parts you don't need. good luck and keep us posted.
