I just purchased a 04' Powerstroke, 4x4, LARIAT. I'm hearing what appears to be a slight rubbing sound when steering primarily to the right when taking off. Has anyone else experienced this or can give insight into possible causes. The truck is the first FORD I have ever owned, and I hope this isn't the start of a long list of squeaks, rubs and rattles. Any advice.

Welcome to FTE, be sure to read all the guidelines and then...............just drive your truck and ENJOY it.
Well they replaced the drive shaft and said it works fine! Once I jumped on the freeway headed home and guess what?? THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE!!! I looked under the truck later just for the hell of it and I find the transmission is now leaking fluid. Go figure, one problem in exchange for two...Back to the dealer it went and off I went in the Ford Taurus (weak piece of crap)

OK I have asked before...........NOW I am telling you, WATCH the language
Try typing without any cuss words...........NOW
Well being my truck is in the shop and they got me driving a ford fugly taurus (can't beleive it sells) is there anything I can do to at least get money for down time? I'm paying a lease on a truck because of factory issues...
Amazing....In 3 days that they had my truck they've changed the transmission fluid. They told me they've been sitting on the phone with the "ford hotline" and they asked them to try it and it seems to have worked but I doubt it, seems that it had been warmed up by the time I got there to drive it. We'll see later on today!! If it did work I'll post the fluids when my customer service rep gets them to me.
Hmmm GUESS WHAT!!! Evergreen Ford's "magic tranny fluid" doesn't work!!!! Ahh Yes, one more time and I qualify under the state lemon law -Runs off Singing "I'm dreaming of a gmc with a duramax and all...."-
Ahh yes, the gmc tune is getting louder and louder as I just received a call from a regional ford somebuddy asking to ride with me to experiance the problem and talk about a buyback
Took the ol' superduty into the folks at evergreen again and parked it there last night so I could drive it in the morning with their top service dude to show him my "non-existant" issue and after a little complaining left in an 04' Expedition, one sweet ride... Just wish it had a little more power, not used to waiting that long to get to 70 :-p. Showed up there this mornin @ 8, nice and chilly, and away we went down I-90. Went for quite awhile and it wouldn't do it so I was ticked but as soon as I was ready to turn off the freeway it shook like a wet dog. Got the "Well thats new!". Received a call from my customer service assistant a little later telling me that the service manager thought it was an injector but the shop foreman says it may be a faulty oil pressure sending unit on the back of the turbo or somthing so that'll be in tommarow. Hopefully this will be it, I really would like to keep the truck, this is just getting to be a hassle. She said I'd have the truck back by Friday or Monday so I'll let ya'll know then! Talk back at ya soon - Dan
