Adding AC to 79 F250 - Distributor Problem

I have a 79 F250 with a 400 engine. I recently got all parts needed to add AC. After I put on the brackets for the compressor I noticed that the vaccum advance on my distributor is in the way of the compressor. Could it be that I need to pull the distributor and turn it one tooth to the left? How much timing trouble will I get in to if I do this?

Please Help!1

Should be okay if you re-time the engine. But be sure the distributor shaft re-engages the oil pump shaft.

I've had 'em set up that close from factory. Should be fine as long as you don't have to adjust past the stop, then you'll have to move dist. gear yet another tooth.
Or- You could put in an electronic dist.

FYI, the vacuum advance can is supposed to point directly toward the radiator, if the distributor is set in it's stock configuration (with A/C).
