diesel plow

To go off what cookie88 said, the plow along with the diesel engine would be a lot of weight up front, which would probably be over the limit for the front axle. And normally you are plowing snow when it's cold, and having a diesel in the winter, you have to pay it a little more attention to it due to the fuel gelling up. But if you keep it plugged in you shouldn't have any problems. There were nights here in Iowa it was below freezing and I didn't have my truck plugged in, just have to wait a little while for the glow plugs to do their job and it'd fire off. That is probably the big concern, fighting fuel that is gelled up. But if you maintain it correctly in the winter it won't be a problem.

I love plowing with my PSD'S. Im running two PSD trucks to plow with and i will never go back to gas. On my pickup truck i did use an add a leaf type deal, just had a local spring shop install an extra leaf on the front pack, just to keep it from sagging too much with the plow on. My dump truck has some good spings on it from the factory and really doesnt sag much with the plow on. As far as plugging in, that is a problem, my dump is parked at a yard with no power, so when it does get real cold, i have to go and start a generator to plug her in, only had to do it once in 2 years. In the winter i make sure i use fuel additive on EVERY tank full of fuel. The stations say they add ani-gel to the fuel, but one can never tell. For the cost of the additive, its well worth the extra security.
