Since when do the expys have coil springs, mine doesn't, I have torsion bars.
Mark
... that's gettin' kinda picky
The main idea was to support the caliper when removed from the rotor so it doesn't hang by the brake line. A person can hook the caliper to the torsion bar in front or to the coil spring in back, or you can turn a bucket upside down and set the caliper on it - the main point is to not stress the brake line with the weight of the caliper.
Per Ford Specification:
Suspension - Front (4x2/4x4)
Independent unequal-length control arms, torsion bars, shock absorbers and stabilizer bar
Suspension - Rear (4x2/4x4)
Non-independent live axle, coil springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bar
Ok I just changed the pads and rotors on my 2000 expy. had no problem what so ever. if you only changed the pads then the caliper can stay on. my rotors came right off. now if your talking about the back brakes then I can see the trouble with the rotors..
