I have a 92 e4od that is starting to shudder when the torque is locking up (220,000km).The pan was clean when i changed the oil.Also what will I need to do to beef it up when I have it rebuilt?

If you're keeping your truck for a few more years, start talking to real transmission specialists in your area; those who have been in business for 20 or 30 years in the same location (stay away from the chain outfits). Ask them about their experience with the E4OD - tell them you'll be looking for every available upgrade. Make sure you get a torque converter specially built for turbo diesels even if yours isn't. There are many other upgrades including shift kits and beefed-up steel parts to replace some of the aluminum originals. Expect to pay about US$2300 for the full upgrade but you will end up with one of the best big-truck transmissions in the world if it's done right.
