ACT sensor

What is the ACT sensor on an 89 F-150 302 EFI? What does it do?

Screwed into the lower intake manifold, driver's side. There's a two wire connector coming off it. It tells the computer the temperature of the intake air, and the computer can make changes according to that along with all the other sensor inputs.
