Smile Running rough -- problem solved!

To all you guys who offered advice about my 94 running rough -- thanks! After installing new wires and plugs, which it needed , and checking for vacuum leaks to no avail, my mechanic discovered that the source of my roughness was the vibration damper. There is a rubber damper between the inner and outer pieces of the damper and it had started to migrate someplace else ( maybe a warmer climate) which in turn caused the two pieces to become slightly miss aligned laterally, creating the vibration. Put on a new one $98 at NAPA, and smooth as a baby's bottom!

It's on the front of the crankshaft behind your lower crank pulley it's also known as the harmonic balancer. I never heard of one going bad due to natural causes. Usually it's when someone has pulled one improperly.
