abs light coming on

my abs light is coming on at startup, but i can turn the truck off and back on again and it will go away. it is doing it intermittenly, not all the time.
93 f250 7.3 idi. i do need to do my rear brakes, but i haven't noticed any braking problems. any ideas

sounds like a sensor is going on you. Next time, swing over to auto zone and have the code pulled.

First place to check, apply to dodge ford and chev, the plug on the rearend for the sensor gets hammered with rocks and other stuff, they are known to go and 90% of the time it is the last thing people check.

Right on the top center of the rearend there will be a black plug. If it is bad the firs and cheapest thing is to unplug the wiring that comes from it where it hooks up on the frame and test it, usually that part of the harness is cheap to replace.

Does your cruise controll still work? There is a sensor(on the rabs) that comes from the auto tranny to the rabs valve. Mine died and caused the light ABS light to flash and I lost cruse controll as well. This apparently causes the cruise to kick out when applying brakes, dunno why the ABS light flashes when it dies.
