They totally re-do the car, they're 100% experts, and its all a prank on the owner who ends up with a nice custom car in only a week. They get a little more technical than the american hot rod/chopper series. I'm getting tired of the american chopper show, not technical enough for me.
Whats your take, yay or nay?
I'm kinda surprised chip foose gets that into it, I didn't think he worked on cars as much as he does vs designing them (and wheels).
I must say that I owe Chip Foose an apoligy. I had previously thought he was a hoity toity, over-rated pretty boy. Based upon seeing him on this show about 5 times now - I must give him full credit. He can draw like nobody's business, he has great taste in customizing, he welds, paints, wrenches, sands....he walks the walk. And he has a sense of humour.
Loved tonight's 56 Chevy roadster...
However, having watched every episode of American Hot Rod, I have a very low opinion of Boyd, or my opinion of boyd was certainly not improved by watching the show....
I didnt get to see tonights show. But then again i was kinda ticked that they was taking a hard top and making it a roadster, lol. But then again its not my car. They can overhaul my bronco, as long as they lift it lol. Love the show, and Foose is just a totally awesome builder.
I also have A new found appreciation for Chip Foose & Troy
The paint job on the Chevelle was awsome. The painted emblems on the roadster were unbelievable. Some of the people they do cars for are horrible. No appriciation at all. Oh you did the car over
If they ever did A car for me it would be
Mr Foose is there anything I can do for you ,yard work, paint your house, work for you for free, throw your inlaws out, etc.
I missed last nights show, but I have watched most of them. Love the show. I like the technical end of things. I do agree, Chip doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. I love the paint schemes he comes up with. Those guys must be working 24 hours a day on those things. I know how many hours it takes to build a custom car, and for them to pull it off in 7 days
I love that show!
I can't say which one has been my favorite. All the cars have come out so nice. Those guys are absolutely amazing.
I've already told my daughters that they can feel free to contact those people to get my Bronco overhauled. My list of things I want done is in my glove compartment.
Did you see the chevy pickup they did for that college kid? Now, it was an 88 chevy, but they lifted it and did some crazy stuff to it. I really liked the paint job. If you didn't see it they sent it out for flames. But the truck was painted black and they put on realistic looking flames. It really looked like someone had a flame thrower blowing down the side of the truck, it was awesome!
I saw my first one last night. I am a big Chip fan. They did some other special/show that outlined a project he did for Ford to customize a brand new T-bird for the SEMA show. Sweet stuff. Chip is 'da man.

I saw that one, I must admit, it was a good lookin truck (for a chevvy), and the paint job was AMAZING. It was cool that they incorporated his future job into the truck and made a sliding rack and even bought him EVERY thing needed for what he was doing (somethin like search and rescue) and put it in the rack.
I love the show, and they just dont do the body, they actually put power into the engine and get it runnin like a top. They put a supercharger on the chevvy and an edlebrock intake and I think edlebrock heads.
There is one show that could learn from Overhaulin', MTV's Pimp My Ride........the worst show I have ever seen.
I keep hopin one day to look outside and see my truck gone lol....but not actualy stolen'
Hee hee.. I think 'Pimp My Ride' is just to show off the bling and not actually get into the gory details about how it got there (99% of MTV viewers don't care about the details, they just love to see the before/afters).
I like PMR, but wish they would go into the details, those guys do some great work.
