It's never really occured to me before but did they ever make any aerostars with leather? I need to reupholster the driver's side front seat and I thought well maybe I can swap out a leather seat from another aerostar or perhaps a very early model windstar... but then I'd need the passenger seat and rear bench as well... And I'm also wondering about converting from 5 passengers to 7. Is it possible and how hard? NOTE: It's a 5 pass sport there are no holes in the floor (that I can see anyway) to just drop in another bench...
Either way I could probably just get all the seats reupholstered with leather anyway... probably expensive but what isn't these days *glares at the gas station across the street with it's sign hovering just below the 99.9 cents a liter mark* I can say one thing though. The more expensive gas becomes the better a deal supreme (91 or better octane) is. Think about it. here we pay 10 cents more for 91 octane than 87, no matter what 87 is 91 is never more than another 10 cents. so at 60 cents per liter 91-95 is 70 but at 1.00 a liter 91-95 is 1.10 percentage wise supreme is now a much better deal (and for the improved gas mileage and performance it now makes a lot more sense to buy it.) anyway thoughts on seats (and gas...)
i don't think ford put any leather in the aerostar. but i know that explorer or ranger xlt's might. those buckets would be size appropriate. i'd bet you could mount your base on them, and they'd fit right in.you might check out junked explorers first. worth a look-see anyway. or..... get yours recovered. cost may be an issue.let me known if you find any.i've been thinking of re-doing mine for years now. usually talk myself into over the counter covers because of price.( and the kids always want something too) rick . 91 aerostar 4.0 xl ext. aka "the green bean" 198 thou miles and going....
