radio question

radio question
i searched to see if i could find the answer to this one but unfortunately i couldn't. the question is that i put in a radio rewired from the head unit to the speakers and when i turn on the cd changer and tape it plays fine. but when i put it on the radio nothing comes out and i have all the wires hooked up just like they are supposed to be i just cant figure out what is wrong?

I recently put in a new Sony Xplod stereo in my 90 Aerostar and the one thing I can help you with is that you only need to hook up the positive wires for your stereo and you need to make sure you hook up the equalizer.... Hope this helps .... After three days of many bad words works now!

i have an 89 aerostar and found that all the wires were bad. if you are a car stereo nut such as i am then you would actually enjoy doing what i am advising. i would advise that you go get an aftermarket radio/cd player like a sony xplod or a pioneer. after you do that and get it all hooked up then you should run your speaker wire yourself. all of the wire that is existing is made to work for all 6 speakers. that is bad with an aftermarket radio. you need to only run your front 2 and your back 2 speakers. your middle speakers which are 6x9 holes should be ran off of a small amp depending on what size amp you get. i guess to answer your ? in short, run all of your wire yourself and dont trust the wiring that is in there already!!! i had the same problem. email me and tell me if this helps.
