starter

loosened all the bolts , and starter won't come free. am i missing something? other than the obvious, like shooting my truck?

uh man, you gotta take the bolts out. Glad I could help.

Seriously, that's odd. Are the bolts out and it is not moving at all? In cases like that, my favorite tool is a BFH. (uh, big ***** hammer) It is broken right? That's why you're taking it out? What kind of truck is this anyway? With all that talk about shootin'

unfortunately, i happened to get a bad truck. the engine leaks oil with only 5000 miles on the rebuild, i have replaced the headlights, tail lights, radio, master and slave clutch cylinders, glowplugs and lines, injectors, fan blade (195.00 for a fan blade?), luk" clutch, rebuilt the winch, and of course the truck came with new firestones, of which 2 of them peeled off last week. to top it off,i attempted to have it towed to the new mechanics place and the tow truck driver mangled the whole driver side door , mirror, and window!

believe it or not, last nite a kid who used to deliver pizzas for me long ago came into the shop for a pizza, i asked what he was up to.... he said "i been workin' on diesels for the past 3 years"! and the little ***** switches it out in about 10 minutes! it seems that i missed the top bolt and took a thinner one off the starter casing instead. truck started right up! it also seems that my fuse box is burned out, so the kid is going to replace it and solve my wiring problem. i'm happy, truck running, new diesel mechanic, free pizza for everyone!
