I'm trying to remove the chrome grill on my 98 4x4 XLT, so I can do the 'home depot' grill mod. My Haynes manual says "Remove screws and remove the grill. Installation is reverse." Real helpful...
Anyway, I took out the four screws on the top, but can't get the clips off of the bottom. They appear to be a type of friction clip, but I can't get them off. Feels like it's going to break the grill. I can't pry it out with a screwdriver either. Someone please give me a hint on how to take the bottom clips out so I can get this done, while it's still light.... Thanks!
Thanks! I like it a lot. Makes the front end look more sharp I think. Plus it should help prevent more big dings in the radiator. Materials were only about $10, and took a couple hours of my time, basicly just followed the advice on. Just cut the mesh stuff, bend and shape it on the back, and jbweld it onto the grill. Then just zip-tied the two piece together in the middle. Anyway, thanks for the compliments!
