Can anyone tell me roughly how much it would cost:-staun to convert my 95 F250 PSD 5 speed regular cab, LWB 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive? I mean, it doesnt have to be a monster rock-crawler or anything, just something to go muddin in. Or at least so I don't get stuck in my yard anymore(3 times in the past 6 months). I know nothing about it, except for what I read in Dan McDonals's tech article. What are all of the parts I would need? Ive got access to just about any tools necessary. Also, where is a good place to buy axles? Are Dana's the best? What shoud I stay away from? Could I get a wrecked truck from a junkyard? If anyone could, it would be great to have step-by-step instructions, or at least an email addy for help. Any comments/suggestions welcome and appreciated.

I've never done this myself, but everything I've heard and read said if you really want to do it,get the parts from a wrecked 4x4 from the salvage yard. But you're probably better off to sell your truck and buy one that was made 4x4. Less money and headaches.
It is possible to do, but not too easy, as there is usually not sufficient room under the engine, in 2 wheel drive configuration.. So, the first thing to do is to lift the vehicle at least 4 inches, then get an axle with the same ratio as the rear. Then you need a transfer case, behind the transmission, to get the drive to the front.. attach a driveshaft, and shorten the rear one, and you are about there..
systems that need serious modification are, suspension, steering and driveline angles... I have done it and had success, but it is not a faint hearted task..
It would be far easier, and probably cheaper, to go out and buy an old 4x4 and modify to your specs... You can get a high mileage powerstroke diesel 4x4 for less than 15000 now, with plenty of life left in it..
