I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer Expedition. It's raining here and the headlights must be on per state law. However, it's not dark enough for the auto to kick on. Is there any way to adjust sensitivity? Thanks.
I don't believe that there is any way to adjust the sensitivity. Do the 2004's have daytime running lights? If they do, that might satisfy the rain/headlight law.

I just bought my first expedition last week and I also had thought about this. I just sold my lexus which had the option of having the lights on all the time with the auto turn off when the engine was stoped. What I have been thinking of doing when I find out where the sensor is, is to block it where it thinks it is night all the time. I prefer to run with my lights on all the time as a safety issue.
my wifes grand cherokee (which we traded to get the Expedition) had that feature. whenever the winshield wipers turned on, so did the headlights... even if just using the "mist - once and done" feature. its out there, just a matter of figuring out how to tie the systems together
Certainly DRL is the best option, but the really cheap option is to throw a "sticky pad" to hold your cell phone or GPS over the sensor (center of dash on 2000 EB) and just let the lights turn themselves on alway. I suppose a piece of electrical tape would have the same effect.
The absolute best option though was already mentioned - turn switch from A to ON. Just remember to put down the phone before you do it so there is at least one hand on the wheel.
