Blown Freeze plug?

Blown Freeze plug?
Well heres some background. My transmission decidded to stop shifting. So i got a loaner from a friend who had an aod sittign around. That worked for about 3 months. Now it dons't shift past second gear. Hes surprised even worked at all. But heres the thing, to go 45 i have to run it at about 3k rpm. Because of this I only make trips when i absolutly have to. Well I had to make one today, it was only a couple of miles but the coolant temp managed to hit 190, then after about 5 minutes of this it went to 215. I prettymuch idled it home on that. But when I get home theres a hissing. It coming from behind the engine towars the top and it spews antifreeze. Is there a freezeplug on the back of the head? I could really use some help.
