swapping springs

Will the leaf and coil springs of a 1979 F250 extended cab long bed 2 wheel drive fit a 1968 F250 single cab long bed 2 wheel drive truck? Thanks for the help.

F250s of neither of those years had coils. Leaf springs only. F100s and F150s had the coils. In either case I'm sure they'd swap over, but the spring rates are likely different since one is an extended cab. I don't know as much about the lighter duty suspensions, but the leafs on a '79 are a bit wider than the 68s. So spring perches and hangers would also need to be swapped.

2 wheel drive f-250's had coils. As for the spring rates, I would assume since they are both 250's that the coils would be the same. If I remember right, the 250's got wider springs but I can't remember off the top of my head which year they switched. Just take a tape measure and measure the width of the springs.
