I have just purchased a 2004 F250 with the V10. The first thing I am looking to upgrad is to put a custom cat back exhaust. I have always trusted in Flowmaster but have heard that vortex is pretty good and that if I want to spend the money I could go with a borla exhaust. I want my truck to have that low, mean rumble sound. Which should I go with, or is there any other brand you all would recommend? Thanks for the help, Steeltown

Check out the V10 and Superduty forums too. If ya want to keep the single exhaust then just a muffler replacement is an inexpensive option. Flowmaster 40's are popular. Borla will be quiet.
For better sound should I bring them out infront of the tire, behind it, or straight out the back...I like the straight pipe look! Thanks for the help...
Dont think it will make much difference about the sound. I think your options are behind the rear tire or straight out the back. In front the the tire might me tough to do with drive shaft and fuel tank issues.
Go with an aluminum muffler like the 40 series from flowmaster or glass packs. The stainless steel mufflers like Borla and Magnaflow perform better but the exhaust note is alot less quiet.
