yeah i know pumps are cheap,but if it stays tight why spend the money? if it aint broke dont fix it!
i check the fluids and such every other day,the water pump gets a good wiggle each time also.I AM GOING TO GET 300,000 OUT THIS ENGINE!wont be much left of the body by then but o'well.
Hey, by all means rancherman, if you are that good at checking things over, go for it. I don't know many people that keep a very close eye under their hood (myself included).
Just had to change a pump today as a matter of fact.
Mine is running cool enough now! I changed from a 195 degree thermostat to a 180 degree. They flushed out the system and went back with water and antifreeze. It was cavitating, so I added two pints of Napa Kool 4056. Now, it consistently runs 195 to 200 degrees. Apparently, the main problem was cavitation.
