Help! my truck's in the air, I've installed a 3.5" leveling kit (RevTech) and the shocks won't fit. (they are the right ones per the list). The **** hits on the bottom, so bolt won't go in and inverted (rancho's site says they can go either way) the metal insert is in the wrong end, so they won't fit that way either. Naturally they did not include any instructions. Anyone mounted these? How did you get them to fit? I tried Rancho, but they are closed for the day. Thanks, Mike
Went and pulled mine out of the junk pile. Mine are P/N 9012, rear shock for the 4-inch lift, the adjustment **** is perpendicular to the mounting bolt, no way it can interfere with front or rear mount.
Good luck with yours, I never could get mine set right with the lift. Hopefully they work just fine with the stock springs.
I neglected to say the problem is in the front. The **** hits on the casting for the front steering and won't let the bolt go in. I just tried to take the metal insert out, no go, it is a different bushing than the other end. Seems to be bonded to the plastic bushing......
i have a 2001 f250 and on the front shocks the **** is on the bottom of the shock facing towards the rear of the truck, if the **** was facing out i see how it could be a problem. i have no lift
I'd call Rancho and make sure they don't have an updated part #. With the stock springs your gonna have clearance problems (steering knuckle) with the **** facing the tire, it should point front/back on a stock application
Well, I talked to Rancho today and they are convinced I have the wrong shocks. You guys were right, the valve **** lines up with the bolt. I checked to boxes, but I didn't check the number on the shocks themselves. I will post the final resolution. Thanks so much for the help and advise. Mike
