Can anyone tell me if my 2004 SD XLT should have come with active red door lights or a hood blanket? My doors have the red lenses, but do not illuminate on eihter side.
Thanks

I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to post until I took it apart and investigated it more. So ford put a red lens in my door, but there is nothing behind it?

I have the same problem in my 04 F250 CC -- red lenses in the doors but no lights. I do have the hood liner and light in glove box though.
I removed one of the red lenses in a door and there was a recessed area with a mounting hole already in place! Haven't checked if wires are in place as well but I don't think it is likely.
Has anyone else tried to install lights in the doors?
I intend to install them myself in a few weeks using the Black/Lt-blue wire that has 12V when the doors are opened.
Now I just have to find the FAQ that described the door pannel removal process.
In my 2003 Full Crew, I have the glovebox light, header in the hood and in both the drivers side and passengers side front doors working red lights in the pannels.
The two rear doors however don't light up though I've not yet popped the lens to see what is behind it.
Seems strange to have them on the front doors but not the rear ones.
