289 Water Temperature

Hi everybody,

I need your opinions on this:

I just installed a 289 C stock engine with a four-core radiator, without shroud and I don´t know the degrees of the t-stat.

I just started the engine for the first time yesterday and I'am getting around 220 ºF at idle.

Is normal to get such temperature ??
What is the normal operating temperature range ??

Thanks,

Mario

With it sitting idling its gonna get warm. I would suggest finding a shroud and checking to see what temp T-stat you have, A 180 degree should be correct.
