That should work fine, and be cheap, providing that you can get it in properly. Have fun! I didn't feel like messing around with that, it's hard enough to put in the one that was made to fit. But please let us know how it works, and how hard it was to make it fit.
Got both actuators mounted in about a hour and a half. Mounting is not a problem, mounting at the same angle as the exesting rod is more cridical. I had to add extra holes to pivot them little bits at a time,I hated adding more holes.
I did not remove or machanicly disconect my old ones,I did cut the wires. I conected the new rod to the push lock rod.The new one is mounted just above the latch on a slight angle in at the top. There is a hole that just lines up with the exestng rod to tighton the screws on the rod clamp.
I will let everyone know how long they last. Replacing them will be veary quick and simple.
Sounds like a good deal. I still don't want to mess with it though. My driver's side is done and if the passenger side goes I am still going to get the exact fit one, especially since they are down to $39. Ford wants $100 each. If that was the only alternative, I think that I would do it your way too.
