305's on a stock F-350 6.0 4x4 cc sbox??

I've searched and searched and still cannot find any real data if these will be OK. It'll stay stock, some minor off roading, sometimes pulling a fifth wheel.

And since I'm far from being a tire expert, will the 33/12.5-16.5 be almost the same size as 305/75/16?

Yep - 305/70-16's are basically 33's - I have them on my truck with a 2" leveling kit and they JUST clear for street driving - would rub pretty bad if you got twisted up much at all. If you want to go without a lift, go with 285/75-16's (they can go on your stock 16x7 wheels) and they still may rub depending on your off-roading. I would say for the 305's (and you should really use 8" wide wheels) you should go with a 4" lift - but that my screw you up with the 5er. I've read all kinds of posts that people fit 305's on stock trucks and put them on their stock wheels - but I would not recommend either. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

I have basicly the same truck as you, and have 295/75/16 BFG all terrain t/a's the tire is a 33.2 just check out the link ,I do not have any problems with rubbing, even while off roading, and they mount on the stock rim. Look at my gallery, there is a pic of truck, and no front leveling kit mainly because I tow a fifth wheel also, and when the fifth wheel is hooked up the truck sits level.

I have 305 70 16's mounted on 16X10 rims on my stock superduty, and I have no clearance issues what-so-ever. I do have the X code springs though.

I just put 305 Nittos on 16x8 on my 2003 V10 and only the drivers side rubs just slighty on the inner wheel well. I am gonna put a leveling kit on and call it good.

Good Luck

Thanks Cat, no lift for sure. And I failed to state I would go with the bigger rims.

Bashlin, looks just how I would like mine to look. Very nice. Did you have to flip your trailer springs? I wonder how the performance and look would be with your tire size and 16x8 rims.

Rob, I wonder why just the drivers side? With the 6.0 I'm thinking the set up would be different than the V-10. Just a guess though.

I forgot to ask, with the 285/75/16, for ex., what does the 16 denote? Tread depth? If so, how does that relate to tire size if at all?

So, is there any real size difference between a 33/12.5-15 and a 33/12.5-17?

i have 315/75R16 on 16x10 rims on my 1999 v-10 4x4 with stock suspension and i get a little rub on the inner fenders when i have the wheels turned all the way, besides that i dont have any problems. actually i just remembered i had to put about a 1" spacer on my front bumper to move it forward because the tires got really close to it, but thats the only modification i needed. i am putting a 4" lift on it soon though to get it sitting how i want it.

thought i'd add a little note on how to read tire sizes.

315/75r16 is the metric sizing, it means the tire is 315 millimeters wide, and the sidewall height is 75% of the width and it fits on a 16" rim

35/12.50R16.5 is the american version, overall diameter is 35" the width is 12.5" and it will fit on a 16.5" rim

to convert metric to american divide the metric size by 25.4 and that will give you inches

example 315mm divided by 25.4 equals 12.4"
multiply 12.4" by 75% will equal 9.3"
diameter of a 315/75r16 tire is 9.3"+9.3"+16"=34.6"

No I did not have to flip the axles on the fifth wheel, I will post a pic in the gallery you can check it out. Not sure in the 16x8 rims, I like the look of the stock rims. I keep the tire pressure at 60psi all the time, seems to get better mileage at that pressure, thats front and rear.

Chuck, thanks for those conversions. Just what I was going to look for tonight.

Bashlin, thanks so much for the trailer pics. Your set up looks very very nice. Until I get a new hitch put in this truck and back her up to my f'ver, I really won't have much of an idea as to what I'll be able to expect. I'm sure the smaller tires on my f'ver will make a difference.

Thanks guys for your patience. Lookin like 295's may fit the bill. Any others with comments?
