Hey guys just following up on my last writting thougth all would like to know on what was said after i talked to dealership service manager. Well he stated going to be a few more days, they finallly got the engine out! Guess one of the big hold ups thats been going on is they were waiting on a tool to remove the motor from the truck. Now it diagnois time, service manager spoke of many things. I guess from what he told me they are going to measure the block a.k.a bed pan seal. see if specs are correct. So he also told me dealership optign to pay a one month payment in the form of a check do to amount of time taken. Also asked if i wanted to look at a free extended warranty do to accuring problems i have had. I opted for buy back and he said ok i will see what i can do. And the funny part about it was it sounded like he was agreeing with me for buy back! Thats all for now wish me luck ..........

Good luck!!

Tell them I want a new one too!! Neah...Running good so far!!

Although our dealer did fix my RM/Engine Cover leak (crossed fingers) they didn't really have an "eye" for detail/finish when it went back together.. Wire harness not clipped back in place, hanging down, scratched paint, trans fluid dripping from X-member ect.. Not all techs are the same for sure, but the thing that would concern me, is that their watching the clock as your "GEM" goes back together.. Easy to miss something.. rattles/leaks ect.. And possibly future visits for "small" fixes.. Sounds like they "OWE" you one....

GO for the new truck!!!

Keep in mind to pull the engine, they lift the cab off the frame to remove the engine. Just to get at the rear main, they pull the tranny, which is a lot easier. There are all sorts of things that can get screwed up when pulling the cab. Hayapower just listed a few. I would go for a new truck after all that.

Yeah.. It Ain't pretty... But, the E series (vans) actually get the the cab lifted (or) chassis dropped depending on what angle/how you look at it... But the Trucks get "EVERYTHING" forward of the engine removed to make way for the motor to come out.. Nothin but a Massive hole!!

I think once you been "maxed" on inconveinence and stress, and outta the truck for more than a few weeks it time for a new one... Espescially if you see it apart!!. Let them fix it, and wholesale it off.. It's better all the way around, and good for customer satifaction as well..

If ya all know they have to split the block to get at the seal too lol. About the scratches haya, man i wish i would have had my digital camera on me when i snuck back to check out the truck! My dang parts including painted bumper on cement floor of garage Enough to **** anyone off i tell ya. But to the issue you mentioned on plugs and stuff not put back together thats why i opted for by back. Hope to get another diesel some day just not now due to all this mess with the 6.0's

I agree. I have no problem with them dropping a tranny to get at the RMS. But lift the cab to remove the engine? There is a major time effort involved and a lot that can go wrong. I don't have an emotional attachment to my truck, but I don't want it screwed up either.

Hope it goes well.

If Ford offered me a later build, or cash back HUM.... I'd probably go with a new rig, only because they'll be getting more expensive, and I'll need this truck to really "perform" in the next year or so.. But in a few years, these trucks/engines could be a totally new breed.. But I do understand the hesitation...

Any add-on's on your truck?? That they will credit you for should you not get an "alike" replacement..

Keep after them Chris

I am 23 also and have had 3 of the diesel's, 2 = 7.3, and now my 6.0. I just sent my DSB paper work out monday and are awaiting conformation of my claim. My truck has been the shop over 55 days for 2 rear main seals, in 3 times a dangerous reving up and down prob,in 3 times for hard to start. rattles in the drives door, AM / FM radio replaced 3 times, and the list goes on....

Now if Ford does offer for a person to order a new truck. How do you go about ordering it. The new ones cost more then the 03' CC, SB, 4x4 did. Will ford make you pay the difference, or what. What will you be aloud to order on a new truck. Does anyone know????

Thanks,
PSDboy

The best they will have to do is give you your money back. Ask jdadams on this forum, he got a new truck.

Dispute Settlement Board

I know i probably get this right, but here i go. The DSB is an independent arbitration firm that handles issue's / defective vehicle claims for Ford. They handle the dispute hearing between you, i, whoever, and Ford. Whatever they decide, i believe ford has to follow threw with. This is the first step, in my statem to claiming the lemon law. I think if you don't like what their decsion is then you may claim "lemon law" on your vehicle, or that is the way it is in this state. You may want to check with your state's attourney generals office on this.

If i missed anything, please someone add to it.

Choctaw,

How would i get a hold of jdadams? Just wondering, I have a few questions. Thanks Bob.

Customer Assistance and DSB are all covered in pretty good detail in the owners manual. It gives you a process. I would read everything carefully and document what it is that is wrong, who said what, and what you want done. Start on Page 199.
