00 PSD Cooling System.
How often should the additive be used in the engine cooling system and how often do any of you change out the antifreeze completely?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Apr-02 AT 09:59 PM (EST)]Ford says to change the antifreeze the first time at 45k then every 30k thereafter. You should check the FW-16 additive about every 10,000 miles in my opinion with the test strips and add as required. When you completey flush the system, get 4 gallons of LOW SILICATE antifreeze that meets the Ford specs in your manual, 4 gallons distilled water and 4 pints of the FW-16 additive. DIS has the best prices on additive and the test strips.
