I have one, but it is not a very good one. My mom brought it from my aunt and gave it to me for Christmas 2 years ago. It will only operate with regular AA batteries (no rechargable ones ) and it goes through those after maybe 30 or 40 pictures. And that is without ever using the screen. What is the purpose of having a digital camera with a LCD screen if you can't even use it because it will drain the batteries too quickly? It is only a 1.2MB from Hewlett Packard so it doesn't even make very good pictures. I have a few that are awesome, but most are not that great of pics.
I don't understand the problem using rechargeable batteries...... I had an H.P. 200C, 1.2 Mpix, probably similar to the one you have, and used both NiCd and NiMH batteries in it with no problems. Other than it getting stolen at my 30th H.S. reunion!
Ya, I take all my pictures now with it. I highly recommend the Canon A40 (the updated model is the A70). I can link you to some pictures of mine if you like?
If you are wanting to buy one... how much do you want to spend, and what do you want to do with it?
I have a Sony Mavica with 10x zoom and a set of Bushnell binoculars with a digital cam in it. Both take awesome pictures. The Bushnell set hasn't even been released to the public yet, but is due out soon. The wife bought me the original Bushnell binoc cam for Christmas and for some reason it kept eating batteries without even taking a picture, so I sent it in and since they didn't have an exact replacement, they sent me their newest model.. Kudos to Bushnell.
I'd never consider going back to a film camera. Bleh!
I just bought a $10 digital camera last week -- worth every penny...
I just wanted one for direct-to-internet pictures, still deciding if this will do the trick. Unfortunately the store had two better and slightly more expensive cameras advertised that I couldn't find anywhere...
Minolta Dimage 7i... the ultimate camera if you have enough batteries to keep it going! With a 1GB Microdrive, I can snap pix until my finger falls off!!
Olympus C-4000 here. Takes panorama shots and does a bunch of other things. I've had cheaper, but have come to the conclusion I need something that does at least 4 megapixals or I'm not happy. I'm not too concerned about a whole lot of zoom, because I haven't seen anything in digital, under a grand, that has decent optics like my SLR's have
I bought a Sony Mavica 1000, about 3 years ago - uses 3.5" cd's - 2.1 megapixel - 10x optical zoom - GREAT camera! Also bought a pocket Kodak (also 2 megapixel) last year for its size - it's much more limited feature-wise (no optical zoom), but it's REALLY handy for traveling - to get that unexpected shot of a nice rainbow or whatever.
