Buzz when parked?

Buzz when parked?
When I park and get out, something in the back (near/in the gas tank??) keeps making a noise... something between a whir and a buzz... Does it for about a minute then stops...
Is it my fuel pump or something else? You guys with your lists of repairs have me nervous now

might be the filter, could be the pump, maybe you got a bee stuck in the gas tank.

Now it's not stopping after a minute or two... I went to the bank (to get money for parts) and 5-10 min later when I came out it was still doing it... Should I be worried/afraid?

try replacing your fuel pump relay. It is probably bad and is not cutting off your fuel pump which is making the sound.

where is the fuel pump relay? So far all I've found is "under the dash"... is there anything with more detail? I have a '90 xlt btw.

it should be located right behind your air filter box. It is connected under a black plastic rectangular piece. It should say fuel pump on it.

Got it! Problem solved (though I did break the clip that holds the relay in the box with the other relays by accident). Thanks!
