2.3 turbo t bird swap

i have a 97 ranger and was thinking of swapping in a 2.3 out of a turbo t bird, and was wondering what year models of t bird should i look for a donor engine from?

Im not exactly sure as to what year you may need but, you can also use the same stuff from a Merkur XR4TI or an SVO mustang.

You'll need to do alot of research on that. I'm thinking that the different electronics might make for a ton of swapping to be done.

to answer your question... an 87-88 TC. but you will most likely want a larger turbo off an earlier model TC or any other turbo 2300 (T-3 turbo) as the 87-88's came with a smaller turbo.

I've been considering this engine for my '80 pinto. Any thoughts? I figured it would be fairly easy. I think the engine I found is out of an '85

88' Had A Little Intercooler That Was Connected To A Scoop In The Hood. 85' Mercury Capri Had A Strong Engine As Well.

how about the capri turbo'd 4? i found one in the classifieds (out of an 84), was considering to get it for the 87 ranger i should be getting this week(i really hope he takes my offer)
