constant backfire problems

constant backfire problems
I have an 81 f150 4wd 4spd. It almost always back fires if i give it more than a quarter pedal of gas. I put in new plugs, wires cap rotor, donut gasket. ANy ideas?

Is it a Holley carb? Power Valve failure will make it backfire through the carb.

You guys did notice he said "Thanks for the help. pulled the belt off worked great. now what did the screw on the carb do that my friend turned trying to make it stop? It must be cold idle or something."
