I have a 93 2wd ranger with a 3.0 and manual transmission. Everytime I start it when the engine is cold it will idle fine but the first few times I try to take off it boggs down and wants to stall, sometimes it does stall and is hard to get started again. After it warms up it runs fine. I have tried new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, new fuel filter and air filter and cleaning the MAF, but nothing has seemed to help. I took it to the local ford dealer awile back and they did a fuel system service where they clean the injectors. It helped for about a week and then it started acting up again. Anybody got any ideas what I could try next? Thanks Rob
Did they change the fuel filter? How long has that been? I'd start w/ the simple stuff. I have 00 2.5L 5 spd that ran alot better after replacing the fuel filter (sluggish at 65pmh to the point of pinging). My old filter had dirt in it.
My second thought is your EGR system or vacuum lines.
I did change the fuel filter about 2,000 miles ago and it did not seem to make a difference. How could I check for bad vacuum lines or problems in the egr system? I will try disconnecting the coolant temp sensor, thats the one right by the thermostat housing right? Thanks Rob

Sorry, my 00 truck has two of them. One for the PCM and one for the gauge. Your truck I believe is different. Check for broken vacuum lines also.
