Two quick questions, C8AE-H heads are they decent heads? I belive these were rebuilt not too long ago since the springs are still covered in yellow paint. The intake valves have a raised ford stamp in the center, are these replacement valves?
Also this motor has a newer carb on it and i cant seem to find a real part number to go by, it has an electric choke on it and the only numbers i see are a small 331 on the left side and a yellow sticker by the choke that says TWO and then below that E BTB/R not sure on the last letter. But seeing how this motor i suposed to be a 72 i dont belive they had electric chokes?

I am running the C8AE-H heads on my 390 and they seem to work very well. Actually i tried porting them and acidently went through a water jacket. luckly I found another set of C8AE-H Heads and am in the prosses of porting one of them to match the other head and will be (as the money comes in) Sending both heads to have satainless 2.09 and 1.65 vavles installed on them. They are smaller chamber heads 67cc-70cc so watch your compression ratio. mine is 10.5 to 1. Could not tell you much aout your carb. probanly some one else can. i run a holley 750
