beat this: im in High School where a bunch of people have big trucks. thursday my friend who has an old big bronco running 35s" with enought lift to fit 44s parked on a boulder they use to seperate the parking lots. well the school pig ate him out for that and and said how illegal his truck is (which it is not!), yea the same one for writing him a ticket for a DIM TAILLIGHT. So On friday there was in inspector from the state going around and measuring frames (AT A SCHOOL) and he scraped off the sticker throught the open window of that bronco
Man am i glad texas doesnt have lift laws otherwise i wouldnt get to drive my dad's 250 every once in a while. He's running a 14" lift with 46" tires on it. His midlife crisis car.

nice....mall'crawler
hell.....i am lucky to have 3 lights total work on my truck!
Heck, you should move to Iowa. Last I knew, they hadn't renewed any lift laws, so it went back to the default for all vehicles. That means anything under 13.5ft high and 8ft wide and you good to go...can you say BIGFOOT!

imo, Calling law enforcement or security officers pigs is NOT cool at all. That lack of respect is probably 100% of the reason you had a real pain in the neck come in, to teach everyone a civics/respect lesson.
I'm in Iowa and I got a ticket for my tires sticking out of the fenders-only about 2 inches-theres a lot worse running around than mine. I think the real problem is the cop has it out for me-its not a good sign when a cop knows your name-he's nailed me twice in the same place for stupid stuff. A guy at work said "He's probably got a daughter going out with a guy with long hair, so he's gonna take it out on you" (I've got long hair) Still trying to decide to fight it or not.

I got pulled over by four cops a once. I was delivering pizza in my truck, Yeah it sucks a little too much gas to deliver pizza in but i should have my car running soon, Someone called the police because I looked Suspicious carrying a pizza bag. Four cars waiting for me when I hit the main road. A cop walked up on either side of my truck and opened the doors( Is that by the book procedure?) The first thing out of his mouth was "Oh, Were you delivering
Pizza?" That night was a record breaker in my book, I got pulled over 2 more times that night in two more cities for looking Suspicious. I really need to paint my truck.

If it happened within the last few years, I would have fought the ticket...Iowa has NO vehicle height controls of ANY kind currently on the books. You could literally drive Bigfoot around and they cant do much about it. There was even an article awhile back in one of the 4WD mags about the laws in each of the lower 48 and it mentioned Iowa's no restrictions except the 13.5x8ft rule that applies to all but farm equipment.
I did some research on my particular ticket and the law only mentioned unsafe tires- no explanation- no definition-nothing about any type of measurements. I think I have a chance at winning, Should I get a lawyer or try to handle it myself? I realize getting a lawyer will cost more than paying the ticket, but it's just the principal of it dammit!!!!!!!
