If there is anyone who can tell me the compression ratio also that would be nice, i am guessing around 9.5:1
Thanks for any help
Brian
As for compression: with those small combustion chambers (look like 69/70 or a HiPo size) you should be looking around 10:1 if not higher...i'm looking to run about 9.5/10 and i'm using 69 Mach 1 heads (62cc i believe) and i'm having them shaved to 60cc...and the machinist gave me the 10:1 ballpark.
a new stock oil pump is what came with a kit that had come from summit. I was told that this pump would do fine and just to use a hardened pump shaft.
Yes i was planning on using premimum gas, here in Mass we have 93 octain and that was what i was planning on using. Ya the prices suck but it is not going to be a daily driver.
Ace Trucking,
The heads actually have a larger combustion chamber than stock, the engine did not come with the sock heads. the engine is a 68 jcode which originally came with 53cc head. and a 10.5-1 stock. Also where did you get the numbers, they were higher than what i was expecting, i was thinking around 300hp/330trq

Would need a high stall and low gears but that'd give ya 400hp according to the book described above.
Since we are being hypothetical here is another one that is even better.

Again you would need a high stall, lower rear gearing and you should be able to have some fun with 526 peak hp and 497 peak pound feet of torque."
by the way i do have hooker super comp headers and it is going to have a dual 2.5" exhaust with h pipe
i think i am also going to put a 1500rpm stall instead of the stock application, its going to mate up with a C4
Thanks
By the way
Anyone with a dyno program?
Whats the Compression heigth of the pistons? Do they have vavle reliefs? I'm guessing with untouched stock heads your going to get closer to 280 horse. Stock Ford heads suck.
