I have a 99 f250 psd 4x4 with the extended cab. I will be replacing all 4 speakers tonight. I am not 100 percent sure how to get the rear door panels off. I see the window seems to be somewhat attatched to the panel. I have read on this site some very good directions on this pocess, however I am unable to find them at this time. Any and all help is much appreciated.
just did it myself. take out the 2 screws that hold the window hinge to the panel then pull out all around the outside edge of the upper panel to disengage the clips. onn the lower panel there are 2 screws at the top in the middle and closer to the sides on the top there are 2 plastic retainers that look like a large black thumbtack that just push through the panel into the sheet metal of the door. Here is the problem, i don't think they were mwant to be removed. As you will find out the head will break off of them when you try to pull the panel out.........so just let them break off. Then lift up and out on the lower panel and it will come right off. I just put the two screws back in the top of the panel and had no problems since the upper panel fits over the lower one and holds it fine without the two retainers. You may be able to find some replacement retainers but I didn't bother with it. hope this helps.
on edit: the black retainers should be able to be kept intact if you use a screwdiver to push the center out of the head the just replace in reverse order............also, there may be 4 screws in the top of the lower panel instead if 2

You can buy replacement retainers from NAPA. A package of about 8 costs around $6.00. Don't buy them at Checker's! Theirs are made in Mexico out of a cheap, thin, brittle plastic. I broke three of them just sliding them into the slot in the panel.
