I have F250 diesel 02 model year, wait to start light has never come on not even once, so I went to see local dealer asked him how come light on my truck never comes on; He wanted to see my truck,I took him to it, he turned the key and said look that's it pointing to air filter warning light! Needles to say I got out as soon as I could without even trying to explain to him what he was actualy pointing at. He was telling me that Ford has changed indicator light without changing instruction manual!!! Since I live down south I am not concern about it, unles I am gona screw something up.If anyone has any sugestions or ideas I would be gratefull,TIA Miro
So where did they get that guy? I'm in the south too, so I know what you mean...most ofthe time the glow plugs are not a necessary thing...but I'd certainly get a second opinion. I'd want to know why my light wasn't working! I don't think you'll hurt anything if they're actually not working...and it could just be the light. But I'd certainly want to know what's up...and I don't think I'd ask that guy again!
I would like to know where they found that guy myself, but I didn't hang aroung long enough to find out. Anyway thanks for your replay and if I may I would like to know more about Superchip and Microtuner. If they are so good, how come Ford doesn't install them or offer as an option? Regards Miro
I am not sure what the manual says, but they did change the light for 2002. It is a twisted line looking thing probably meant to look like a coil.
Aaron.
I have a 2002 also.. the light is a little curly cue thing, like 2 or 3 coils of a spring. I live in TN and it doesn't stay on very long at all.. also, IIRC, it is very close to the air filter gauge!
