I took a short trip (10 miles) to the lake pulling my boat (3000lb) with my 92 f150 302. When I got home I checked the oil. Oil level was fine, but the dip stick was smoking! Smoke was coming out of the dipstick hole as well.. Plus my oil gets black in color very quickly after oil changes.
Blow back? Something else?
I am looking for more torque for pulling and I am torn between upgrading the top of the 302 or replacing with a 351. If this is a sign of worn rings it makes my decision easier..
Thanks!
Doug
