Flat Bed
Hello! I had built one for my 89 Ranger. Mine has the 7' Bed .I put 4" I Beam on top of the Frame and put 4" Channel across it then put 1/8" Plat for Decking . The bed is 63" across and 7' Long . I did not want to extend the Frame so I stuck with the 7' Length. I went with 63" across so it extended past the Cab to give a Small stake bed Look. The only Problem I had the Rear Springs was not Heavy enough so I Put 3/4" Chevy Truck springs on to Keep the bed off the Rearend. The 3/4 Chevy springs were 2 3/4" wide and 58" Long they seem to match up with the Ranger Old springs. I even replaced the center Bolt with 7/16 Bolts I had to drill the Springs to fit this bolt the springs had 3/8" Holes .My Ranger Spring Pads had 9/16" Holes and the 7/16" Bolt has that size of Head thats why I Changed them.when You Put the I beam on the Frame you will have to use 4x4 Blocks to Level out the Front then I Ran 1/2" Plate Brakets on top of the 4x4 i Beams and the Bottom of the Frame and put all thread and lock nuts to clamp down the bed .It all seems to work great its been like this for 4 Years Now .Good Luck!
