429 engine, vin #

I just picked up a 79 f150 ex cab shortbox 2wd, it's suppose to have an '68/69 429 engine in it does anyone know the vin numbers on the block =. The farmer

So far as I know there are no VIN numbers on any Ford block.

Vin#'s were punched into the back of the block in a machined area, on 289's in 68.

Are you confused between Vin #'s & Casting numbers ?
