went for a walk yesterday in a local scrap yard and I came across two 47 ford 3 ton trucks one was just a single axle but the other had badging that said hemmition or something like that.
I had a closer look and it was a all wheel drive dual axel it had a massive gear reduction in the rear diffs
I will try to get some pics of it after the snow is gone
any one ever heard of thes trucks before
Yeah, I have seen a brochure on that kind of set up, it was called a 6x6 conversion. Think it was used mainly under chassis like dump trucks and so. I've never actually seen one of these trucks in real life, some pictures of it would be nice.
Marmon Herrington was a company that you could send your Ford to and they would install all wheel drive onto the truck. Never really seen one in person, but I've seen a brochere too.
I talked to the guy today he said I could have it for 400 bucks I told him he had a deal I'm picking up my new toy in a couple of weeks
