Just something I thought might be helpfull. Before putting the ecentric back in make sure the cam sprocket is fully seated (use the bolt to push it in) and the make sure the damn dowel is pushe din all the way. I nearly broke the little tab that sticks out of the back of the ecentric becasu as I tightened the bolt the tab was pushing against the dowel.
Almost had a disaster considering the hell I went through to find the ecentric.
I did because I needed it NOW. But I also see where I got several replies and web addresses in a previous post. If I had time I would order it from one of them. When I rebuild I'm gonna order everything and avoid the hassels of dealing with the local parts store that never has anything.
I didnt see your other thread until I replied to this one
I know what you mean by trying to find parts at a local store, its hard to find a Ford guy. For some reaon everyone who sells parts are hardcore chevy guy's. They can tell you everything you would need for a 350, but mention ford and the blank stares start to pop out
just wait until you try to source the crank key (cant remember its official name). the closest I was able to get was one for a lawn mower. I did luck out and find one in the bins of nuts and bolts. not sure why they kept them there.
They probably think of Fords as a lawn mower. I was in O'Reily and a kid I know working there said "If you'd switch to Chevy you'd really like it, the way you are about your Ford." I just reminded him that his Chevy just needed to have the motor replaced. He claims it was all his fault (probably was), but it made my point. Leave me alone and I wont trash your truck.
