Question need advice re:Predator

I don't know the build date off the top of my head but I bought it in Oct. 03.The engine runs great! But my freind say's he'll sell me Predator for $345.00and it's well worth it . He claims 3 mpg better. I get 17 mpg now,if I could get more mpg and 65 more HP that would be nice but is that realistic. I asked my mechanic and he told me that they all throw up a code but if I return it back to stock settings I won't have a problem. I other words he'll ignore the code. He did tell me the number of the code but I forgot. My big question is will the Predator throw up a code I think only a mechanic can tell me. Any help will be greatful

I have a Predator. It has thrown no codes. When I restored the factory program, there were no codes. I understand the only trace would be the date of the flash would show the date you restored the factory load.

I just spoke to the diesel tech that works on mine and he was pretty upbeat on the Predator also because of the diagnostic capabilities.

Why is your friend selling it? For another 40 you can get a new one from Motorhaven with all the support behind it.

understand that these units are not designed for fuel mileage in mind so what he sees in gains does not mean you might see the same all trucks are not equal, as for the codes when the factory tune is reinstalled there are no traces left in the computer of the tune ever being there. I have seen a ford diesel tech install his wds on the truck and it shows nothing. The one thing you will have to do in order for the predator to work on your 6.0 is get the latest ford flash for your computer. If you have not done that then the predator will not download the performance tune in the computer.

Is there any risk of losing any mpg or reliability? I just want to make sure if I do this nothing negative could happen, like I said before my truck runs great, but like most people if I can get more I want it.

There are some using the Predator with earlier versions of code. Check Choctaw Bob's posts. If you lose mpg or reliability, it wouldn't be the fault of the Predator Program. Probably the result of getting on it to see what it will do. Go to http://www.diablosports.com/main.php to see what it does.
