Leveling kit?

A local "speed shop" here in NC markets a leveling kit that does a great job of doing just what its name says. The owner of the shop gets a new 350 every other year and its always a CC LB and it always looks awesome, not to much lift (I know, TOO much??? What's that???) but just enough. He levels it and puts 1 or 2 size bigger BFG KO's on and man it looks great! I have an '04 Exc and they put the kit on it and some 285 (stock is 265) KO's and it looks way better. Stock they look like a 400lb man wearing size 6AA shoes. They actually had to add a 1.5" block in the back as the kit is for a 350, not the 3/4 ton so the front was a little too high. I'm sure there is something available for your truck. The kit consisted of new leafs (1 added and they have more of an arch) and new shocks up front. As far as warranty, we may have a more relaxed dealer here but I'd say probably 30-40% of the Heavy Duties that they sell local are lifted in a similar fashion...and of course some run w/ 35's and 38's on a 6-8" lift. Doubt warranty could be stretched for that. Took mine in for 1st service yesterday and 1 salesman, 1 manager and the I&F guy all asked what I'd done as they all have X's also. Well, they own them but their wives won't let them have'em back! Anyway, I think at least two of them were headed to the same speed shop as the GM of the dealership has all of their dealer added/aftermarket accessories put on there. The long and the short of this post is that, yes, there are options out there and no promises but, no, just leveling (reasonable lift) should not get you dewarrantized (new word for Mr. Webster).

Oh...almost forgot. The reason its lowered in the front is so that we who drive the biggest trucks are able to see what we are about to run over...thru...or something. You know...in response to the Nader Raiders, Sierra Club or one of the other anti-SUV, big truck.........Just kidding, I have no idea. Maybe its like the old liquor cars, real jacked up in the back when empty but level when hauling....????

Eastair Fabtech and others make a leveling kit that is spring hangers that use your stock front springs, you do need to replace your front shocks and an adjustable track bar is agood idea,it will give you 2.5" in the front room for a little bigger tire to,my dealer has told me it was fine, but then I realy havent put it to the test This setup will keep your stock ride to.

Ford sells a leveling kit for superduty's with diesel engine's. My friends just bought one for his 03 F-350 CC sb 4x4. All it consists off is a leaf spring. It goes inbetween the ones that came on the truck factory. It raises the front 2 to 2 1/2 inches I believe. It was enough on his truck that he put 315-75-16 BFG At's on it
just my 2 cents
