Thanks for the help CruelCrew,
I got the truck back from the dealer! The Service guy said they couldn't find anything wrong with the moonroof! They said its working how it should be! I asked them what happened to my comfort position and they had no clue what that was( Figures)
He said this is the way the moonroof works !! I dont know what to think ! I'm ****ed at myself I for got tho read the Manual(I'll try to get to that tonight) I will get to the bottom of this!!! I love the fact that the Service guy thought I was crazy!! He was in the truck showing me the roof and how smooth it was and quiet, He's like whats the problem here!! hahahah What are some other thoughts you got on this Cruel!!!!?????
Don't sweat it, I can't really break your *****, you should have seen me trying to figure out MY window! Total nightmare. Who the h*ll engineers this stuff??
I have a '04 83,000 miles on it with a moonroof and after washing it to day i noticed a ring a round the headliner where it is leaking a little. verry up setting! oh and my light or back glass also leaks, rain scares me
Welcome to FTE Mr. Blue. The high mount stop light leak is a known problem and ford has an updated part for it, but if your out of warranty you’ll probably have to pay for it. As for the moonroof, I’ve noticed that mine will depress enough to let air in during the dry circle but no water. I believe they are adjustable, so you might just need to tweak it, but your drain tubes could just be clogged.
what is this "comfort" setting your talking about CruelCrew. my 06 doesn't have it.
I press the button backwards once and release, and the entire glass section goes into the roof and the visor also disappears.
I press the button forward and hold it. the glass re-appears and the visor pulls forward about 2-3". when the glass is where I want it, I release the switch. when the glass is fully closed, the switch does nothing else.
when the glass is closed, I push the button forward and the glass partially lifts for the vent section. I push the button backwards and hold, and the glass shuts.
yeah maybe so, when i get some time i guess i'll will take it to the dealer and let them take a gander at it and the headliner rattle. i did read the tsb or whatever so that shouldn't be a big deal, but as for the moonroof maybe they can put some new weather stripping on it or something. the sun has had its way with it. even though it's starting to leak in extreame cases, it is hard to beat it laid back when the weather is right! of course i bought my truck used so i just lucked into mine.
i've got to tell yall this site is amazing! there is so much information on here, i just wish i had found this site sooner before i bought my truck cause it pretty much has all of the problems everyone complains of. but even with all of these minor things i absolutly love it, even more so after i got my edge after reading all of the posts about it! i'm glad i got it before they went up, and of course i got it from Discount Power Parts. They were great too!

so again, what is this "comfort" position?
I doubt cruelcrew will be back. On my truck when I hit open it opens most of the way, but if you press and hold it again after it’s stopped it will open a little more. I can only guess that it doesn’t open completely to help keep wind noise/buffeting down.
there must be 2 different versions. I even went out and checked it to see if I was misremembering it. maybe you 07 guys, and a few late model 06's have a newer version.
Doesn't anyone worry about the possibility of it leaking? That was the sole factor for me not getting my truck with the moonroof even though I really wanted it and still do. I wonder how much and aftermarket one would cost and would it be as good as the one that comes from the factory?

Here in Florida everyone I know that had a moonroof equipped vehicle eventually had a leak issue, as rubber weatherstripping doesn't remain watertight forever, eventually drying out and cracking. We also have severe thunderstorms here, frequently accompanied by hail, which can do a number on moonroofs! Coupled with the occasional mechanical glitches, IMO, the risks outweigh the advantages.
Thanks nascardude from the earlier posts I was starting to think I was the crazy one for thinking that. They do look very cool but your right the risks definetly don't outweigh the advantages
