By gosh, I just checked my log book and my last three tanks have been 14.4: 8.56: and 14.21. The 14s were hwy at 70 with some stop and go (the last tank I went out to set up my deer stand and since I had my daughter with I left the truck run for about 25mins while I did this so I could keep the air on for here, dang it;s been hot lateley). The 8.5 was towing my boat and camper together and I could probably get it up around ten, but running 65mph and not slowing down on the hills has a tendency to drag the mielage down a little, lol!! After seeing that it just goes to show the difference between the 10-11mpg I was getting last winter with winter blended fuel, yuck I hate to think that stuff is just around the corner!! I am very pleased with the mileage my V10 makes, its a big burly truck that has good towing and hauling capability and I can still drive down the hwy and not go broke when its emty!
One of the guys at work and my self recently ran out to wisconson to pickup a boat. Took the company 06' chevy 1500 crew short box. I was quite impressed as we managed a little over 17 running 75 and into a slight head wind. on the way back with the boat we only made 13 though wich reaqlly isn't all that bad either but the boat can't weigh more than about 3k lbs give or take. supposedly he said he's seen 19 when calm and below 70mph. gotta say that pretty impressive, I didn't have much to say about the 5.4 since it seem to be a bit thirstier! he was pretty impressed that I could break 14 on a regular basis though.
