Well, i was just pulled over and warned about my taillights for the second time. i have discovered that when i have my headlights on, the talllights stay on all the time. also, when i don't have the lights on, only my right flasher works but it is very slow. the left flasher never works. i think that there is a problem in the wiring harness in the back end since the rest of my lights are fine, but i don'e really know what to do to find out where the problem is and i don't want to WASTE my money at the crappy ford service centers. any suggestions would be appreciated.
check the plug that splits to the tail lights mine was coroded also if anyone installed trailer wireing i'd check if all curciuts a working at the plug with a test light to narrow it down (only cost ya 5min of time) hope this helps
While you're looking into things, check & clean the grounds for both taillights. Use a test light to confirm power in the dead light socket before you go hunting for a problem in the wiring. If the bulbs are old, change both of them to eliminate any possibility of failure in the near future.
Thanks guys for your help. i actually had a hunch today that the trailor hookup was the problem and i checked and the plugs were melted. i took the trailor hookup out and they are working fine.
