Flasher Problems

So I searched and didn't find any threads where someone had a similar problem.

My flashers are acting funny. The front right flasher and the left rear work but no others work. The brake lights don't work either. When I use the control to try and activate them, neither side blinks or clicks. The only way I can get either of them to come on is to use the hazard switch. I moved the column up and down and that doesn't work. I checked the fuses and all of them of are good.

Is it time to take the control off of the column and check, or take the flasher out?

Sounds like a problem with the Multi-function switch to me.

Yeah, you can remove the multi function switch and try to clean the contacts, this worked for me.

I had similar problems. It was the multifunction switch. I just replaced mine. My truck is 10 yrs old.

what's involved in replacing that multifunction switch?
How much stuff do you have to remove to get to it?

Before you buy a MFS try tilting the columb up and down to see if it acts differently. A common problem is the hardshell connector pin retainers break and the wires pull out of the connector. Best to pull the columb shroud and inspect the wiring and connectors first. Once the shroud is off its only 2 #20 torx screws holding on the MFS
